Anti-Bloat Foods

Anti-Bloat Foods

After the holidays you may be feeling a little full around the middle… and this feeling doesn’t seem to go away until after the new year. A combination of over eating, increased drinking, and decreased exercise this time of year leaves us feeling bloated and slow.

Whether you’ve been eating too much, you’ve got a big day tomorrow, or a dress up occasion and you want to make sure your stomach is as flat as possible – there are a few things you can do to relieve bloating. The good news is there are certain foods that are considered anti-bloat foods that help fight bloat and inflammation. First off, you want to make sure you stay away from sodium and make sure you stay well hydrated. You may want to forget your evening beer or glass of wine as well.

Anti-Bloat Foods:

  • salmon

  • blueberries

  • avocado

  • peppermint tea

  • asparagus

  • celery

  • parsely

  • yogurt

  • pineapple

These foods tend to cause gas and bloating: (because some of them are very healthy for you, just avoid them the day before, of, and after an event)

  • broccoli

  • cauliflower

  • brussel sprouts

  • cantaloupe

  • prunes

  • beans

  • cabbage

  • sugar & sugar free foods

  • carbonated drinks

  • chewing gum

Just a little tweaking to your daily diet can help you stop bloating! And for extra credit aim for at least 30 minutes of daily exercise.
